The title of this blog still shocks me! Like… is this really my life?
If you knew me last year, I would probably have said that I would never leave my corporate job. Leaving that safety net terrified me and honestly, I had a really amazing corporate work environment.
So I assume you’re dying to know how I went from IT Data Analyst to Virtual Assistant in less than a year.
Like most people I had side hustles and passion projects throughout my life.
In May of last year, I joined my first network marketing company and I learned SO MUCH about working online and gained a ton of knowledge about social media.
This lead me to hire my first business coach and beginning my journey to start my very own first business!
Like most entrepreneurs, my first idea was not a winner! I didn’t love my first business idea but luckily around the time I realized this, I met my second business coach!
My second coach specifically worked with women who wanted to become Virtual Assistants and was able to give me an exact structure to starting a Virtual Assistant business quickly!
Becoming a virtual assistant wasn’t too foreign to me. I had done so much administrative work in previous jobs and had even religiously google-searched personal assistant jobs a couple of years prior!
Once, I started working with my second coach, my business took off!
We laid out the business fundamentals, created a strategy to gain clients, and I refined my skills that I could offer my clients!
I worked day and night. I was waking up at 6:30 am, going to my corporate job, coming home by 5:30 pm, and then working on my virtual assistant business until 11 pm.
I quickly started to get clients! So, I mapped out my minimum expenses to live on. I even went as far as debating to cancel my gym membership! I needed to make an action plan to quit my corporate job.
Within 2 months of starting my business, I gained enough clients to where I could leave my corporate job and support my minimum expenses!
I owe my rapid growth all to hiring a coach and my work ethic. If you want to start a business quickly and successfully, hiring a mentor is the best way in my opinion.
I saved so much time and was able to make money quickly because I had guidance!
So while this business wasn’t my first ideal and I had to hustle in the online space before I found something that worked, I am very glad this business has stuck and I love the work that I do!
I hope you all enjoyed this short story and if you are considering becoming a virtual assistant, GO FOR IT!
